At the Knysna Lagoon take the Old Cape Road turning towards Simola Golf Course. This is the second last traffic light on the way out of Knysna or the second one coming in depending on the direction you are coming from.

Drive to the top of the hill and just past the main entrance to Simola you will see signpost for Gouna, take this left into the forest. Tree Spirit is 6km from this point.

The road is graded as often as possible and joins with the R340 to Uniondale further up in the forest.  At times it can be bumpy and some may find it not suitable for low vehicles and it also depends on whether you are comfortable driving on a gravel road. It’s a beautiful and exciting drive though as you go through a forest, cross over the river and up a mountain pass which is fairly steep.

Carry on until you see a sign for San Ambroso Church, turn left here. There is an open gate with signs, go through this entrance.

We are the next left hand turning around 600m from the church you will see a small sign for Tree Spirit opposite the turnoff.  If you get to a big set of wooden gates you have gone too far. There is a house at the top of the lane, follow the lane down and we are at the bottom.
