Tree Spirit is a nature lovers paradise embodying the calm of the forest with the peace and tranquility of an off-the-grid solar powered farm. If you would like to experience conscious living, working hand in hand with the elements and like being off the beaten track with some gravel roads then this is the place for you. In return, you will truly get to be one with nature again where fast WIFI and TV is no longer important but the connection is better.
At Tree Spirit we have different accommodation offerings to meet all your needs. So whether you are a couple, family with kids, extended family or group we’ve got you covered. The cottages are located in a private, secluded corner of the farm over looking a beautiful dam so great views for everyone.
As a solar powered farm we aim to provide all the comforts of home, however it does require you to be conscious of what you do and when. Therefore we ask for non essential electrical items to be kept to a minimum (phones and laptops not a problem) and showering is undertaken between 8am – 6pm alleviating the use of pumps out of daylight hours.
Between the cottages there is a communal, central unique stone and mosaic BBQ area, including a large fireplace which can also be used for pizzas. A fire pit also provides the perfect setting to enjoy alfresco dining on those summer nights under the stars.
Let’s take a closer look at the cottages that are fully equipped for self catering with all you would require in terms of crockery, cutlery, bed linen and towels. Cleaning materials, tea/coffee/sugar is also provided. Powered by solar and gas for hot water they are bright stylishly decorated in light tones.
Dragonfly – Knysna Forest, Garden Route
Dragonfly is open planned in an L shape perfect for a couple seeking a peaceful, romantic getaway or a family with 1-2 younger children. The cottage is very light and airy with two sets of double doors opening onto a covered veranda
- Two single beds which can be joined to a king sized bed
- Cabin bed effectively two singles for additional sleeping facilities
- Fully fitted kitchen with a fridge, gas stove/oven
- Couch and arm chair in living area
- Small wood burning stove for those winter day and nights
- Toilet and shower, hot water is provided by gas to ensure availability in inclement weather
- Separate dressing room with a bath overlooking fynbos through a picture window
- Out door shower with hot water also available
- Covered veranda with outdoor furniture for four persons
- Books, games and lots of DVDs bring a laptop
Ladybird – Knysna Forest – Garden Route
Ladybird is nestled in the trees adjacent to Dragonfly and is effectively an extension in terms of sleeping facilities. This cosy room with its own balcony is also perched overlooking the dam and provides privacy should you be a larger party than Dragonfly can accommodate or have older children. It shares cooking and bathroom facilities with Dragonfly and therefore cannot be booked on its own unless part of a group.

Protea – Knysna Forest – Garden Route
Protea is our largest and newest cottage which was built keeping in line with our original cottage. Should open-plan not be your preferred choice then this is the cottage for you, boasting two separate bedrooms both of which are en-suite with a covered deck over looking the dam.
- Queen sized bed with en-suite consisting of toilet and shower only
- Two single beds can be joined to a king sized bed, en-suite consisting of toilet and shower
- Central open-plan kitchen and living area with breakfast bar
- Fully fitted kitchen with a fridge, gas stove/oven
